Entrepreneurship and the Kansas City Network

This is a story about the value of a network… and maybe about being part of a well-connected small city. It was simply awesome to be featured in this recent article by the Kansas City Business Journal – and particularly to be in the issue with the cover story on the Kansas City Power 100. I aspire for that list. (make no small plans, right?) Many in the design and construction community know the writer of the article, Rob Roberts, who covers real estate and development in the Kansas City market. We had chatted at the ribbon cutting for 1914 Main in March, and a few weeks later he contacted me about his idea for this story. Rob’s summary of my approach was spot on, and I can’t say enough about the value of Kansas City’s entrepreneurship network. From Kauffman’s Fast Trac to the Kansas Women’s Business Center, this town has what you need to start a business. I hope more take advantage of it.
