John Renner, AIA
John joined SLATTERY after a decade with a nationally recognized design practice, where he worked on projects ranging from full city blocks to custom-fabricated handrail details. Guided by the ethos of “sanctioned meddling,” he moves fluidly between conceptual thinking and precise detailing, always considering how scale, texture, and material relationships shape spatial experience and our connection to place.
John brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to every project, collaborating closely with Owners, Contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver thoughtful, efficient design solutions. He is deeply committed to quality and craft, maintaining high design standards while addressing practical needs.
With a strong belief in ownership and collaboration, John remains engaged from concept through completion. His proactive approach fosters open, direct communication and brings clarity to complex challenges. This results in functional, intentional designs that not only meet programmatic requirements but also elevate client expectations and deliver enduring value.

All material in nature, the mountains and the streams and the air and we, are made of Light which has been spent, and this crumpled mass called material casts a shadow, and the shadow belongs to Light.
