Michelle Barrett, NOMA
Michelle Barrett, a queer, Black woman, has a relentless commitment to working with communities towards equitable and elegant design approaches for their biggest problems. As a designer at SLATTERY, she contributes to the entire project process from initial programming, research, and schematic design through construction documentation and administration. As a design activist, she advocates for equity and justice within the built environment for marginalized communities, and the architectural profession and its education. At the intersection lies a solution-oriented design attitude where she collaboratively leads teams to honor the past as we reimagine a thriving future.
