#2017goals

In 2014 on a flight home after a long business trip, I plugged in to the HBR IdeaCast and listened to Greg McKeown, author of Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less.

I bought the book that night. It changed my perspective and focus, and although I didn’t know it at the time, it was the first seed planted for the creation of Odimo. One of the key ideas was the rule of three: take three hours to identify the three most important objectives for the next three months. This practice has added clarity to my personal journey, and while we’ve been busy building this practice, now is the time to refresh this rigor. It’s also been said you must write down goals in order to meet them. So… in a classic moment of oversharing, here are our three goals for Odimo, 2017.

Sustain.

We’ve had pretty fantastic launch. The studio is together; the talent is in place. Now we’re going to sustain the business, provide great service for our current clients, and continue to increase the quality of our design and technical work. We’re in this for the long-haul. 2017 will be a critical year for us to establish Odimo as a high quality, design-forward practice.

Go Deep.

We are building a solid core of repeat clients. Folks we want to work with for decades. We will focus on these relationships and cultivate existing connections for deep, meaningful, long term work.

Advocate.

Our work is in service to our clients, and to the communities in which we work. We will continue to lead, volunteer, and support the issues impacting our built environment. Sustainability. Healthy Communities. Diversity. The advancement of these issues is our passion.

What are your three goals for the next three months? Carve out three hours and let us know how we can help you accomplish your next big idea.

Cheers to 2017!
